METTA chairs reviewed: every range, with its weak points.

We are the authorised METTA dealer in the UAE, so read this knowing who wrote it. We have tried to make it useful anyway: what each range is built for, where it falls short, what it costs here, and which one we would steer you to — including when the answer is the cheaper one.

Counts and prices come from the catalogue and update with it. Where the manufacturer does not state a chair’s mechanism, it is not counted as synchro.

Samurai

The range METTA is known for, and the one people ask for by name. Steel-framed backs, a heavy five-star base and a mechanism made to be leaned on: all 33 models here have the multiblock synchro mechanism with a slider.

Good at: full working days; sizing — three widths and three back heights, so there is a Samurai for most builds; and the model code tells you what you get. Weaker: it is a big, solid chair, which some people find too much for a small room, and the cheapest Samurai still costs more than most of ErgoLife. How to read the model names is on the Samurai page.

METTA YOGA

The top of the range. The back is built to follow you: it moves with the torso when you twist and lean, rather than staying a fixed slab behind you. Every YOGA here has a headrest and a synchro mechanism, and genuine leather appears in this range.

Good at: people who move a lot while they work and want the chair to go with them. Weaker: the price, and the fact that the movement is a taste — some people prefer a firmer, stiller back, and they are better served by a Samurai at half the cost.

Equalizer

A single model in our catalogue, with a distinctive back built from separate modules that support the spine section by section. It is priced among the YOGA models.

Good at: people who want their whole back supported, not just the lumbar curve. Weaker: one model means one set of sizes — if it does not fit you, there is no sibling to move to.

ErgoLife Set

The value range for full days. 31 of its 42 models have a synchro mechanism, many with a tension seat — mesh stretched over a steel frame — and backs that run tall.

Good at: getting the parts that matter after the sixth hour at a fraction of Samurai prices; furnishing a team. Weaker: plainer materials and fewer headrests; check each model, because the mechanisms are not all the same.

ErgoLife Sit 8

The most affordable range we carry, from AED 590. These are simpler task chairs, and the manufacturer does not state a synchro mechanism for any of them.

Good at: a spare room, a meeting room, a desk used a few hours a day, a budget that has to stretch across many desks. Weaker: full working days — for those, spend a little more and go to ErgoLife Set.

Sit Air 24/7 and Sit Well

Sit Air 24/7 is aimed at desks staffed in shifts — control rooms, clinics, support teams — with breathable backs and simple controls. The warranty still covers up to 12 hours a day per chair, so for a desk used round the clock we recommend one chair per shift. Sit Well is a small family of straightforward chairs for lighter use.

What every METTA chair shares

  • A steel back frame — no plastic load-bearing frame anywhere in the range.
  • The same warranty from us: twelve years on the steel frame; mechanism, gas lift, base and castors free for five years and at half price up to year twelve; armrests and upholstery free for three. Up to 150 kg and 12 hours a day.
  • A manufacturer’s article code for every colour, shown on every chair page.

Two honest gaps, for now: the photographs on our site are renders from the manufacturer’s 3D models, not studio shots; and overall dimensions and weight are still being confirmed with METTA. The back, seat and base measurements on each page are the ones the factory states in writing.

Which one to buy

  • A full working day, sensible budget: ErgoLife Set.
  • A full working day, a chair to keep for a decade: Samurai.
  • You move a lot as you work and want the best we have: METTA YOGA.
  • A few hours a day, or many desks on a budget: ErgoLife Sit 8.

Specific models for each job are in the best ergonomic office chairs in Dubai, and the chair finder narrows the range to your height, weight and budget.
